Company Man - Peter Cameron C.E.T.
January 25, 2023

Blood is thicker than water. That may explain one of the reasons Peter Cameron has put in 17 years with NL Fisher as the younger brother to President and CEO Mike Cameron.

However, the real reason Peter has stuck around is the value he provides to the organization and what NL Fisher offers him in return.

Peter plays an enormous role at the company in his capacity as the Construction Manager; prepping leases and roads, managing manpower and scheduling; and upholding a stern commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. He is called the “Glue Guy” because of his ability to help in every aspect of the business and his extensive knowledge and experience within the business and the energy sector. This includes maintaining and driving a Calgary Stampede favorite - The Stagecoach during the 10-days of Stampede festivities.

Adam Marsh, NL Fisher’s Senior Drilling Engineer said, “Peter is the best teammate and work colleague anyone could ask for. He always comes into the office with a positive attitude and when you need something done, Peter won’t stop until he finds a solution.”

Pete’s lengthy loyalty to NL Fisher arises because it has provided everything he could ask for in terms of professionalism, growth and working for a world-class organization.

“There is a lot of pride working for NL Fisher, not only because it’s been in the family and the history and reputation we’ve built, but because of how hard we work to support our clients. What we do has passion, and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else.”

There is no sibling rivalry at NL Fisher. It is truly a team, but as with all siblings, debates and conversation can at times get heated. However, brother Mike can think of no better employee than his brother to balance the chaos of 24 hours/day operations and to always tell it how it is. Honest and transparent.

“I’ve joked around that Peter isn’t ever allowed to quit because he’s my brother. But the truth is, he can’t ever quit because we need him. He’s too valuable to our day-to-day operations and what we’ve built together over the past 16+ years.”

Pete lives in Cochrane on an acreage with his wife Quinn, and three boys Fletcher, Wyatt and Marshall. You can usually find Pete working on a variety of projects from his outdoor hockey rink, to building a chicken coup, tending to his garden, to buzzing around on a lawn mower with beer in hand.

The entire team at NL Fisher wants to recognize Pete for his commitment to excellence and his outstanding loyalty, leadership and friendship.
